ROMANTICISM AND REALISM

Today we are going to create our own image about what Romanticism and Realism are.
After watching some videos, and with the help of the textbook, you have an idea about these two movements.
Now it's time to look for some examples to illustrate our shared creation: the padlet.

As you can see, it is a wall to stick on it anything we consider interesting about the most important people in each movement.
So, you have to choose one of them and look for one of their pieces of art (painting, book, poem, text, song) and write a shot comment about it based on the main principles of these two movements.

ALL OF YOU have to write something. There will be positive or negative points, so, DON'T FORGET TO WRITE YOUR NAME

Time to start. Are you ready?  if so, CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO START.

How to make your own barometer

In this unit we have a science experiment: we're going to make our own barometer to measure the atmospheric pressure.
Hope you enjoy this activity and remember, there will be a competition which means a prize for the best barometer, so, be creative and careful.

  1. Gather the things you'll need: scissors, tape, a balloon, a glass or jar, elastic rubber bands, a straw and cardboard.
  2. Cut the neck of a balloon
  3. Cover the surface of the jar with the balloon and streach it on to the glass.
  4. Use 2-3 rubbers to fix it on the glass.
  5. Test it with your finger to see if circle is hard like a drum.
  6. Then, cut the straw to make a sharp point. It is our indicator.
  7. Glue the straw on our little drum using tape, in the middle of the circle.
  8. Mark the current position of the straw on a paper (scale)
  9. Mark some above and below the mark, about the same length away.
  10. Label the high and low pressure (you can also draw a picture)
  11. Check the pressure everyday for some days and write the date close to the marks.

·         You can DECORATE the jar and the card.
·         SEND a PICTURE of it for our barometer exhibition
          to gandh.zobel[at]gmail.com  with your name.
·         and take part in the COMPETITION!!!!!!!
·         The winners and all the pictures will be here

Here you are some barometers we built last year.
